Explanation

Campsis grandiflora, Morning Calm, Chinese Trumpet Creeper, Trumpet Vine
noozen no hana, 凌霄の花
noozenkazura ノウゼンカズラ(凌霄花) (のうぜんかずら)

The country of origin is China, but this flower has been known in Japan since the Heian period. It is loved for its vigour in growing around trees and up on walls.
The latin word Kampsis means bent, curled, as the stamen inside the flower is curled.
The latin word grandiflora means large blossom.

It flowers from June to September and is a joy to the eye with its strong orange color. There are varieties in pink too.
It is also used as a medicine flower in China.

Since it grows so vigorously, it is said that Hideyoshi brought plants back from his battle in Korea as a souvenir for friends, and some plants of this origin are still flowering in the town of Kanazawa to our day. Kanazawa is the town where his close friend, the Lord of Maeda lived.
